At Francis Street First we invite you to experience God and express your faith through a traditional, blended and contemporary way of worship. Contemporary service is held on Saturdays at 5pm in Kemper Hall. Sunday Services: Early blended worship service with Andy Grooms, wonderful jazz musician, starts at 8:45am and includes some elements of liturgy. The traditional worship service is celebrated at 10:45 am and includes a greeting, responsive reading, opening prayer, time for people to greet each other, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, the Lord’s Prayer, an offering, sermon, special music and hymns. Get a copy of the service bulletins at the entrance and find the responses in the bulletin. Our bulletins are visitor friendly to help those who are unfamiliar with United Methodist worship.
Communion is served at all three services on the first Sunday of the month. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate. If you have some mobility issues, our communion stewards can bring communion to you. There will be some differences in the services from time to time depending on the Christian Calendar. Our liturgists and the pastor will guide you through the service to make you feel at home. Our greeters and signs will help you to find your way around the church.
