Fresh Fruit of the Lenten Season

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Galatians 5:5

The beginning of Lent was marked by the new study, and even in spite of the weather, the group continues gathering up to 11 people. The discussions in the group are incredibly attention-grabbing. I believe because of the study and the prayers, the desire for transformation and growth is building in our hearts. The more discussions we have, the more energy I sense in our church. The chain reaction of sharing our faith is gaining speed because of the catalysts among us.

Francis Street First was and is and is to come because of the faithfulness of our members. Becky Hickok shared at the Coping with Sudden Life Changes group, “I am in prayer for our church growth since 1995.” God never leaves prayers of this high importance unanswered. Sherril and David Lewis made a map that shows where our church members reside. There are a few pins that indicate how many members joined Francis Street First less than 10 years ago. We decided to pray that this year our church will be blessed by the new growth and the map will be covered with the new pins marked as “Joined less than a year ago.” Imagine what a blessing that would be when we will start putting the new pins on the map. One pin on the map is not just another person in the pew, but another woman, man or even the whole family that is no longer alone.

There are a few new ideas that are brewing this Lent: Mother’s Day Lunch, Easter breakfast, community prayer walk on Saturday at 3:30 pm before the new Lantern Service that starts March 17th @ 4 pm.

Be sure to regularly visit our Facebook page and the website and please share all the information you find inspiring. The more you share, the more new people will hear about the fruits of our faith that began to multiply.

We pray that God will bless the new growth and we believe that God will bless us because of the love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness of our congregation

Thank you for being the catalysts of new life in Jesus.
